Health Dept Offers Microchipping Service

Health Dept Offers Microchipping Service
Posted on 02/11/2019

The Montclair Health Department is offering a pet microchipping service during its free winter rabies clinics for dogs and cats. The cost of the microchip service is $20 per pet (cash or check only) – well below the average cost to have a microchip implanted by a veterinarian which is around $45.

Registered microchips give lost pets the best chance of returning home. The American Humane Association estimates over 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the U.S. every year. A pet microchip and enrollment in a pet recovery database helps bring lost pets home and provides peace of mind that your beloved companion will never wander unknown.

A free rabies clinic and $20 microchipping clinic will be held on the following date:

Cedar Grove Clinic: Tuesday, February 26
Cedar Grove Municipal Building

525 Pompton Avenue
Dogs: 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Cats: 6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
