The Montclair Health Department partnered with ScreenNJ to bring FREE Skin Cancer Screenings on the LifeSaver mobile unit to the Montclair community on July 11th, 2024!

The ScreenNJ organization "provides free access to cancer screening to help patients overcome barriers and assist New Jersey residents to get screened. ScreenNJ partners with and supports healthcare provider agencies, public health agencies, and community organizations throughout the state of New Jersey that provide education, refer patients, or directly provide cancer screening and prevention services, as well as groups that help organizations initiate, expand, and/or support these types of outcomes, evidence-based screening and outreach services."

With summer being an important time for sun safety, the MHD decided to place emphasis on prevention of skin cancer in our community. ScreenNJ brought their clinical and outreach team who provided a visual analysis of the skin and education on prevention, warning signs and available resources.

We are grateful for this collaboration and hope to partner with ScreenNJ for more screenings and education in the future.
