NJ Historic Preservation Office Virtual Training

The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office will be hosting a joint virtual training discussion on Saturday, February 8th, from 9am-12pm.
The shared training between Maplewood and Montclair will consist of an overview of Historic Preservation-- what it is and why it's important-- and a deep dive into Historic Preservation at the federal, state, and local level. We will discuss the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the New Jersey Register and National Register of Historic Places, the Municipal Land Use Law, Ordinances, Historic Preservation Commissions (HPCs), Local Designation and Historic Districts, Demolition, the Certified Local Government (CLG) Program, and CLG Grants. At the end, there will be a Q&A session.
