Financial Analyst

Summary:

The Township of Montclair is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as a Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for finance, excellent analytical skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This role will involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with financial planning and forecasting. Work is performed under general direction from the CFO or their designee, who will review performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $90,000 per year; includes health benefits.

Heavy Duty Truck Driver (CDL) - Department of Utilities

Summary:

Under direction, drives a truck with tandem/dual rear axles, to transport materials, equipment or people.  Performs related duties, as required, consistent with municipal water and sewer activities.  Work is performed under general direction from the Operations Supervisor or his designee who assigns duties and reviews performance for completeness, conformance to instructions and regulations.  

Salary:

$20.38 per hour, plus full benefits.

Maintenance Worker - Department of Community Services

Summary: 

Loads and unloads waste materials into refuse collection truck; performs various types of manual labor including road maintenance, construction work, road oiling, snow plowing, ice control work, refuse and recycling collection and grounds maintenance. Performs related duties as required consistent with municipal public works activities.  Work is performed under general direction from the Foreman or supervisor or their designee who reviews work for effectiveness.  

Requirements: 

Must be able to lift, move and carry a minimum of 75 pounds and occasionally up to 125 pounds; must be able to lift, move and carry heavier weights with assistance, both mechanical and manual; adherence to safety regulations is essential. Must have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a high school. Must have valid NJ Driver’s License; valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred for potential driving responsibilities between collection routes. Must be able to work in various types of weather; requires off hours availability to work nights and weekends as situations warrant.

Rate: 

$19.66 per hour; includes health benefits.

Violations Clerk (Part-Time)

Summary: 

Under direction of the Municipal Court Judge and Court Administrator, the Violations Clerk performs the work involved in collecting fees for traffic and other violations payable through the Municipal Court; performs other court related duties as assigned. 

Rate: 

$20.70 – $29.23; part-time; not to exceed twenty-eight (28) hours per week.

Secretary, Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs

Summary: 

Performs complex clerical work requiring strong computer skills; greets visitors, answers phones and issues permits; processes purchase orders and performs financial recordkeeping; performs related duties as required. Work is performed under general direction from the Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.

Salary: 

$42,869 - $59,058 per year

Kennel Attendant (Part-Time)

Summary

The Kennel Attendant cares for impounded animals; cleans and maintains the shelter facility; performs related duties as required. Work is performed under general direction from the Animal Shelter Director, who assigns duties and reviews performance for adequacy.

Salary

$15.32 per hour; part-time (not to exceed 28 hours per week)

Uniform Construction Code Plumbing Inspector (Part-Time)

Summary

Under direction, performs plumbing inspection work involved to enforce relevant public health laws within the jurisdiction. Performs related duties as required. Work is performed under general direction from the Construction Official, who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.

Wage Range

$36.41 - $55.24 per hour. Part-time; not to exceed twenty-eight (28) hours per week.

Crossing Guard

Summary

The Township of Montclair Police Department is seeking School Crossing Guards to work two to four hours per day, according to assignments. The Crossing Guard regulates and directs the movement of school children at a street intersection, paying particular attention to their safety; assists and protects children at a street intersection; observes and reports unsafe traffic conditions at assigned street intersection and may make recommendations to improve these conditions. Notifies the proper authorities in cases requiring police action or medical attention; keeps and prepares reports as needed; responds to complaints and inquiries from the public.

Rate

Maximum hourly rate is $23.52; salary commensurate with experience. Part-time, not to exceed twenty-one (21) hours per week.

Temporary Fire Inspectors (Part-Time)

Summary

The Township of Montclair is seeking temporary part-time fire inspectors with working experience as a fire inspector in a municipal setting. Candidates must have strong communications and computer skills and an ability to interact in a positive manner with the public. Possession of a valid NJ Division of Fire Safety Fire Inspector or Fire Official certification is required. Possession of a valid NJ driver’s license is also required. Duties performed according to N.J.A.C. 5:71-3.3

Rate & Schedule

$25.65 per hour. Monday-Friday, twenty (20) hours per week. This temporary appointment is for ninety (90) days, with possible extension of additional ninety (90) days.

Section 8 Housing Officer

Summary

Plans, organizes, administers, monitors, and evaluates applicants and landlords in the administration of the Section 8 subsidized housing program; performs related duties as required. Works under the supervision of the Director of Health and Human Services who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.

Salary

$55,484.00 - $78,700.00; includes health benefits.
