ANCHOR Benefits Filing Assistance

NJ Assemblywoman Collazos-Gill will be joined by the NJ Division of Taxation to help constituents with filing for their ANCHOR benefits. Please bring your government issued ID if you plan to attend.

The Affordable NJ Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program program offers property tax relief to New Jersey residents who own or rent property in New Jersey as their main home and meet certain income limits. This year's ANCHOR benefit is based on residency, income, and age from 2021.

Homeowner Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible if you met these requirements:
- You were a NJ resident; and
- You owned and occupied a home in NJ that was your principal residence (main home) on October 1, 2021; and
- 2021 property taxes were paid on that home; and
- Your 2021 NJ gross income was not more than $250,000
Renter Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible for an ANCHOR benefit based on 2021 residency, income, and age, if you met these requirements:
- You were a NJ resident; and
- Your 2021 NJ gross income was not more than $150,000; and
- Your name was on the lease or rental agreement; and
- You paid rent; and
- You rented and occupied a residence in NJ that was your principal residence (main home) on october 1, 2021; and
- The rental property was subject to local property taxes
