Montclair Little League Baseball

Registration opens Tuesday, January 2nd - February 29th online at: https://register.communitypass.net/montclair

Fee: $120.00 Boys and Girls in Grades 3 - 6 Join us this spring for National Little League baseball.

Recreation teams will be formed for level play within the following grades: Minors (kids pitch) - Grades 3-4-5 Majors - Grades 4-5-6 Player evaluations will be held early March to balance teams for league play, no cuts, everybody makes a team.

Once teams are formed, practices will begin sometime in March (weather permitting) with games beginning in mid-April. Teams will play 2 games per week (1 weekday & 1 Saturday morning) between April-June to complete the spring season.

Games are held weeknights at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 9am or 11am (2 games per week). Players are required to provide their own gloves, baseball bats, batting helmets (with batting cages), and cleats.

Sneakers are acceptable. Players will be issued uniforms. Volunteer coaches are greatly needed to run the program.

Recreation Softball (Girls only)

Registration opens Tuesday January 2nd - February 29th online at: https://register.communitypass.net/montclair

Fee $120.00 Join us for Girls' Softball. Teams will be formed for each age group to participate in the Passaic Valley Recreation softball league. All skill levels are welcome.

Practices will begin in March, with the spring season running from April-June. Teams will play home and away games vs neighboring towns within the PVSL and will meet 2-3 times per week for Games & Practices.

Levels of play: Farm division Grades 3-4 Mondays/Saturdays Jr softball division Grades 5-6 Wednesdays/Saturdays Sr Softball division Grades 7-8 Mondays/Saturdays Volunteer coaches are greatly needed to run the program.

No experience necessary - Recreation Dept. will train!

Spring Track- Boys and Girls grades 4-8

Fee is $85.00 Learn the basic skills of track & field to build strength and endurance through competition.

Program will train on Tuesdays/Thursdays 6pm-7:30pm. Teams will compete against the surrounding teams throughout Essex County from the Suburban Recreation Track League.

Our program runs from mid-April 16th - early June (location TBA). Home meets and practices are held at Woodman Field. Sneakers and cross training shoes only.

No spiked cleats. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

Participants who qualify will compete in the league-wide championships in June. Volunteer coaches are greatly needed to run the program. Mandatory background checks and training provided.

Spring Flag Football Recreation Boys/Girls grades 3-8

Registration opens February 1st online at: https://register.communitypass.net/montclair

Fee is $85.00 Montclair Recreation and the Bloomfield William Foley Jr. Bengals Football Program will rejoin forces once again to play in league action for our participants to enjoy.

Participants will be placed onto teams of their respected grade levels of the 2023-2024 school year.

Teams will be held with 10-12 players per team. Levels of play: Elementary Grades 3-5 Middle school Grades 6-8 Teams will be formed in March.

Practices will begin Early April - Early June. Games will be held on Friday evenings between 6-8pm at George Washington Field (Baldwin Street) and Foley Field in Bloomfield Township.

Volunteer coaches for Montclair teams are greatly needed. The Recreation Dept. will offer training. Participants must provide rubber cleats or sneakers; recreation will provide game jersey and flag belts.

7 v 7 Football (non-contact)

 Registration opens February 1st - February 29th online at: https://register.communitypass.net/montclair

Fee: $85.00 Spring 7 v 7 football.

Competitive football for boys and girls ages 8-13 (as of July 31st, 2024), Participants will compete vs surrounding teams throughout Essex and Union counties. The season runs from mid-April - June.

Games are held on Sunday mornings at home (Woodman Field) and away sites, local travel.

Practices are held Wednesdays evenings at George Washington Field (6pm-8pm). Player packets must be completed during registration for 2024.

Participants will be issued game jerseys and mouthguards.

Participants are to wear their own shorts and cleats, non-metal. Sneakers are okay. Experience is NOT necessary.

Volunteer coaches must be USA football & CPR certified.

Montclair Recreation is offering a Girls Volleyball Clinic for Grades 5 - 8.

Grades 5 – 6 (6 p.m.-7:15 p.m.)

Grades 7 – 8 (7:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m.)

Fee: $100 (Space Limited)

This is a 10-week program beginning March 7 - May 16 with no session during spring break (4/11/2024).   

Each session will focus on basic skills for those new to the sport and some advance training for those with prior experience. The girls will get to play some practice games.
