January 26, 2021 – February 2, 2021

Vandalism

January 27, 2021 (Lincoln Street): The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) punctured the front and rear passenger side tires to her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.

January 30, 221 (Anderson Park): An officer observed spray painted graffiti on the western exterior wall of the park’s bathroom facility. The graffiti was spray painted in green bubble lettering with white spray paint used to outline the letters. "DMAN!!" was spray painted as well as "Locc." under the exclamation marks in "DMAN!!". This same tag was observed in the area of Undercliff Road and Crest Drive.

Shoplifting

January 28, 2021 (Valley Road): Employees of Novelle Boutiques reported three females entered the store and began inquiring which designer bags were authentic and which were fake. One female placed multiple purses on her shoulder and ran from the store without paying. The females ran west on Lorraine Avenue and entered an awaiting vehicle which fled west on Lorraine Avenue. The amount of proceeds stolen totaled $3,731.00. The suspects were described as follows: Suspect #1 is described as a black female, approximately 23-26 years old, wearing black stretch pants, bright red puffy jacket (waist length), brown "skully" hat and Ugg boots. Suspect #2 was described as a black female, approximately 23-26 years old, wearing a black hooded jacket, red Air Jordan sweatpants (Jordan symbol in white), and white sneakers. It appeared both eye brows were pierced with gold studs in them. Suspect #3 was described as a large black female, approximately 23-26 years old, wearing a blue "skully" hat and a white jacket. The suspect vehicle was described as a green or silver Hyundai Sante Fe.

Motor Vehicle Theft

January 30, 2021 (Cloverhill Place): The resident reported that his 2009 Toyota Camry was stolen from his driveway during the overnight hours. The resident was unsure if the vehicle was locked or not.

Burglary

February 1, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): Patrol responded to Belgiovine’s Deli after hours on a report of the glass front door being shattered. Officers conducted a walkthrough of the business where they observed the disconnected cash register on the ground as well as several opened drawers and cabinets. The owner responded and confirmed that approximately $450.00 in cash was missing.

Arrests

January 27, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): Aljamir Parrish-Williams (20 years old, Bloomfield, NJ) was charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop.

January 28, 2021 (Maple Avenue): Fatimah Leftwich (40 years old, Montclair) was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.

February 2, 2021 – February 9, 2021

Theft

February 3, 2021 (South Park Street): A patron at Leone’s Restaurant reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from her purse. Surveillance video shows two individuals taking the wallet. They were described as black males, one wearing an orange jump suit with tiger paw prints all over it, approximately 5'7” and 120lbs and the other was thin build wearing a black jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt with a black hat and black boots. While gathering information from the victim, she received an alert that her card was being used at Caggiano’s Liquor Store on Glenridge Avenue. Officers responded to this location and observed the suspects entering an Acura TLX. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, it fled at a high rate of speed into Glen Ridge. Officers terminated the pursuit.

February 6, 2021 (Seymour Street): The complainant reported that over the past several months, unknown individuals unlawfully entered the construction site and stolen various items. Surveillance cameras have since been placed in the building.

February 6, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): The manager of the AT&T store reported that an individual posing as a customer entered the store and when employees were distracted, stole an iPhone 11 and an iPhone 12 with a combined value of $1800.00. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 40 years of age, 6'2" tall, thin build, raspy voice, wearing a black wool hat, medical style face mask, dark colored coat with puffy hood, dark colored pants, gray Nike brand shoes with a white Nike swoosh.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

February 4, 2021: A Toyota Camry stolen from a Cloverhill Place residence was recovered, parked and unoccupied, in the Valley Road Parking Lot.

Burglary to Vehicle

February 8, 2021 (Willowdale Avenue): The victim reported that he parked his work vehicle in the rear of a Willowdale Avenue address at 6:00 PM Saturday night. When he returned at 8:00 AM Monday morning, he observed the passenger side window had been shattered. A bag containing miscellaneous tools totaling over $500.00 was stolen.

Arrests

February 5, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): Daisy Fernandez (45 years old, Bronx, NY) was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.

February 9, 2021 – February 16, 2021

Suspicious Incident

February 10, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): The manager at Lululemon reported that two unknown males entered the store separately and acted in a suspicious manner. The first male entered the store and started to grab random clothing from around the store and appeared to be using it to conceal a phone and was taking photos. The male made his way from the front of the store to the rear by the dressing room area. The complainant stated that the unknown male was discovered in a fitting room without being assisted by a team member, against store policy. When questioned, the male stated that he was sent by the property owner to complete a work order. When asked if he could produce one, the male stated he could not and could not provide a name of the property owner. The complainant stated that the male was rambling on about "painting the door, squeaky hinges, and other general work," but seemed frantic in his answers. The unknown male then proceeded to walk around the store unattended and was later discovered by the rear of the store appearing to want to access the employee only section. The unknown male left shortly after being confronted. A short time later, a second unknown male entered the store. The second unknown male was greeted by staff upon his entrance and acted in a similar fashion as the first unknown male. It is unknown if the two males are related or know each other. The second male also grabbed several items and appeared to be taking photos of the store with the items concealing his phone. When approached by staff, the second male suspect became irritated and left the store without incident. The first male was described as a thin white male, 5'9" tall, wearing a gray 'Carhart' hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The second male was described as white male with a large build, 5’10” tall, wearing a letterman jacket, beanie, and Adidas sneakers.
Nothing was reported missing from the store.

February 12, 2021 (Elmwood Avenue): The resident reported parking her vehicle in her driveway at 7 PM and when she returned to it at approximately 8:30 PM she discovered the drivers side door was ajar and a single Adidas slipper was next to the door. Nothing was reported missing.

Theft

February 14, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): The victim reported that while inside the Shell Station playing a scratch off lottery ticket, an unknown person stole her cellphone off of the counter. The phone was a blue iPhone 12 Pro valued at $1500.00.

Vandalism

February 12, 2021 (Gates Avenue): The victim reported parking her vehicle in a common parking lot at 8:00 AM. When she returned to the vehicle at 1:30 PM she discovered numerous scratches across the hood of the car.

02-22-2021

02-17-2021 (Midland Avenue) Burglary to a detached garage. Access was gained by damaging a door panel. A power tool was stolen in this incident.

02-17-2021 (Label Street) Theft of a catalytic convertor off a parked vehicle.

02-17-2021 (Upper Mountain at Normal Avenue) A 62yoa female from Irvington was standing at the crosswalk when a male, wearing all gray, grabbed her purse and entered the passenger seat of a gray Toyota sedan. The vehicle fled southbound on Upper Mountain Avenue. There were no injuries reported.

02-17-2021 (South Park Street) Burglary to an apartment. Jewelry was taken in this incident

02-17-2021 (Glenridge Avenue) A vehicle owner who had left his vehicle running while picking up food, observed an unknown party sitting in the driver seat. As the vehicle owner approached, the unidentified male exited his vehicle and entered an awaiting vehicle, fleeing the scene. The suspect was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black face mask.

02-22-2021 (Pine Street) Officers responded to a report of a male threatening a passerby with a knife. Officers located and arrested Mr. Devin Bousquet (41yoa from Montclair). Mr. Bousquet was charged with Weapon Possession and Aggravated Assault.
