The Mayor and Council of the Township of Montclair will hold its previously scheduled meeting at 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair, New Jersey.

In compliance with state regulations, the Office of Vital Statistics keeps records of all births, deaths and marriages, civil unions and domestic partnerships. Certified copies of vital records can be obtained through this office. If you are applying for a certified copy of a vital record in person, it may take up to 3 business days to process.
The Office of Vital Statistics also handles dog and cat licenses. The Township requires that all dogs and cats be licensed annually. A certificate of rabies vaccination is required to obtain a license. Free rabies clinics are offered every February, May and September. Please call ahead of time to confirm that a registrar is available.
We accept personal checks, money orders, or exact change for payment. Please do not send cash by mail. Any vital records associated with Mountainside Hospital are held by Glen Ridge. Their number is 973-748-8400, ext. 221.
