Our Vision:

Every person in Montclair has the right to travel safely each day, without the risk of death or serious injuries on our roadways, no matter how or when they travel.

Our Goal:

Eliminate all traffic related deaths and injuries by 2028. ZERO is the only acceptable number of deaths on our roadways.

Our Task Force:

Montclair’s Vision Zero Task Force is a collaborative team with members from Township Departments including Engineering, Community Services, Public Works, Planning, Police, Fire and Health; Township Advisory Committees include the Civil Rights Commission, Disabilities Committee and Senior Committees; the Board of Education; Elected Officials; County Officials; Montclair Center BID; Bike & Walk Montclair; the student community, and all four Wards.

As a Task Force we will:
  • Be diligent about data-driven decision making.
  • Implement proactive (not reactive) policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Work together to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all.
